Warrior Flow Insiders: Sandy Roe



1- In less than a minute, tell us who you are and why we keep hearing good things about you?


My name is Sandy. No fancy degrees or published books—just a girl who likes yoga. I’m also a wife, mother, sister, daughter, teacher, student, friend, and yogi with Midwest charm and a little Miami grit. Maybe I’m the wild card, but I’m cool with that.


2- What were the pivotal roadblocks and challenges you encountered along the way that helped you define your path?


After a few years of being a stay-at-home mom, I felt lost. Uninspired, unconnected, unfamiliar, and unhappy. I love being a mom, but I need more. I want to live a life with purpose. We get one chance, and I don’t want to just float through.


3- Why did you choose this field? Who were your role models? And what pushed you to learn and become who you are?


I love yoga. I learn from every class that I take as well as each one that I lead—for real, there’s always a lesson. I’m grateful that Miami is home to so many amazing yoga instructors and studios. Yoga feels good in the body, challenges the mind, gives time for introspection, and ultimately becomes more of a lifestyle. Yoga can be a lifelong practice, and I love being able to share that gift.


4- What is your legacy? Do you care about leaving a legacy?


I hope that people remember me and smile. I want to be more than just an acquaintance. I want to make an impact in a positive way and make my three girls proud.


5- What can we all do right now to make this world a better place?


Anything. Any one small thing. If you want to make a big difference, it’s ok to start small. Start with yourself. Use less plastic. Be kind. Volunteer. Pick up trash. Smile.


6- In less than a minute, without sounding like a used car salesperson, tell us where to find you and what is the next big thing that everyone should be anticipating from you?
