1- In less than a minute, tell us who you are and why we keep hearing good things about you?
My name is Luis Ernesto. I moved from Cuba to Miami nine years ago. Recently, I completed my Bachelor of Arts at Emerson College, and I am eager to begin a new chapter in my life. Warrior Flow is becoming a key part in this time of transition.
2- What were the pivotal roadblocks and challenges you encountered along the way that helped you define your path?
Upon finishing high school, I had no idea what I was facing next, and it worried me to think that I had lost some crucial years of my student life. Luckily, I found an excellent community in Miami Dade College, where my skills and curiosities could continue growing. I switched majors a few times, I applied to programs and failed, and eventually I transferred out of state, which was my goal from the beginning. After two years, I’m back.
3- Why did you choose this field? Who were your role models? And what pushed you to learn and become who you are?
I am in the field of writing, literature, and publishing. My biggest obstacle has been to stay still for hours in a room when I am working. I like to be active, and last summer, when I discovered Warrior Flow, I thought the concept of physical training and meditation complemented my studies. I’ve been following the organization since then, and now the chance to collaborate with Warrior Flow feels like a marvelous coincidence. Some people I look up to are my professors Alden Jones and Dr. Gonzalez-Seligmann and the Dominican author Rita Indiana.
4- What is your legacy? Do you care about leaving a legacy?
Books, in the future. But it’s early for me to think about that.
5- What can we all do right now to make this world a better place?
Introspection—I ask myself how I am being part of the problem and how can I do better.
6- In less than a minute, without sounding like a used car salesperson, tell us where to find you and what is the next big thing that everyone should be anticipating from you?
I want to continue my education and training in literature, work on my creative writing, and learn more about yoga, fitness, and meditation at Warrior Flow. You can find me on Instagram.
