1- In less than a minute, tell us who you are and why we keep hearing good things about you? I am the author of Yoga for Everyone, a disruptor, consciousness shifter, truth-teller, activist, Yoga teacher, creator of the Yoga for All movement, mother and wife. If you do powerful things, the world can’t help but take notice. 2- What were the pivotal roadblocks and challenges you encountered along the way that helped you define your path? What helped me define my path was frustration and anger that more people were not being included in the mainstream culture of yoga. I was very tired of the overrepresentation of thin, young, straight, cisgender, white and able-bodied people being the gatekeepers of yoga! I wanted a bigger narrative to be told. I wanted greater representation to happen and I wanted it to change immediately. I figured I was the one to do it. Why not me? 3- Why did you choose this field? Who were your role models? And what pushed you to learn and become who you are? This field chose me! I am a black woman. I don’t identify as African American, as I am Canadian with my roots and culture from the west coast of the continent of Africa and the island nation of Barbados. My perspective is rooted in a global understanding of oppression and marginalization within the culture and how it shows up in yoga. Some of my role models:

Do you care about leaving a legacy? I hope my legacy is to be one of the pioneers of inclusive, accessible and adaptable yoga. A person who fought for equity and diversity. One of the first people to call out the inequities in yoga toward underserved and underestimated communities.
5- What can we all do right now to make this world a better place? See each other and be kind and non-judgmental. Show empathy and take action to be better allies to each other. Start to look at your place in the world beyond your own existence. Learn to see how your choices, actions, and inaction impact the world. 6- In less than a minute, without sounding like a used car salesperson, tell us where to find you and what is the next big thing that everyone should be anticipating from you? Join the revolution! It will be televised on DianneBondyYoga.com, Yogaforeveryone.tv, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. Coming soon: Creative sequencing online course for Vinyasa for All.
